Seriously, life IS work.
Pause. What was your reaction to that last statement? Did you think along the lines of ugh, life is work, I hate life or cool, life is work that sounds fun?
If the idea of work is horrible to you, it might be time to rethink your goals.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best, “Life is a journey, not a destination.” The journey is the work we do, the destination our accomplishment. No matter how wonderful the destination is, if we dread all of the work that it takes to get there, it is time to decide if the destination is really worth pursuing.
I am not saying that working towards a goal should be all giggles and rainbows. To achieve success and to feel proud of your accomplishments, your work will probably be time consuming, challenging, confusing, and out of your comfort zone, but work shouldn't make you hate life.
If you hate the path that you are on, it is time to make a change. Decide what you want and figure out what work you need to do to reach your goal. Are you enthusiastic about the physical and mental efforts that you will need to do to reach your goal? If not, try again. If you need help setting a goal, check out the Miss Nutralicious free Reach your Goals worksheet. Goals are important and the work that it takes to attain our goals can consume our lives. Please make sure that you choose your goals wisely so that you can enjoy life.
