Today's post is a response to my New Year's resolution #2:
I was wrong. Journaling and blogging are not the same.
I have been blogging for one year now and I still know nearly nothing about blogging. However, one thing that I am beginning to understand is that if blogging and journaling are related, then blogging is the crazy awkward in-your-face uncle in the journal family.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I have mad respect for my crazy weird uncles (shout out to Uncle Ed!**), and I really enjoy blogging! The point I’m trying to make here is that just like listening to my uncles talk for 30 minutes, a half hour spent in the blogging world can leave me feeling quite baffled.
This is why I have decided to break out my journals and commit to writing at least one page per day in 2015.
I think keeping a journal again will help me declutter my mind, assess my thoughts and help me prepare for all of the unknown in 2015. Plus, I think journaling will help clear up some of my ideas about blogging. Who knows, keeping a journal may even lead to more frequent blog posts. Maybe?
So, there you have it folks, my thoughts on New Year's goal #2. Short and sweet!
In other news, I'm working on a bunch of new projects. Some home improvement projects, some brand new blog ideas and some organizing-my-life projects (all good things). More on these fronts coming soon.
Meanwhile, share some fun facts with me...
I hope you are having an awesome week!
*While I was writing this post, I discovered that "journaling" is not a real word. Well Merriam-Webster, tough luck! I think it should be a word and I'm going to use it as many times as I want to regardless of your opinion!
**Names have been changed to protect the innocent.
