I think a blog is maybe supposed to be like a diary, but online? You know, like something Doogie Howser would write. Maybe? I’m not really sure because Doogie Howser was way before my time, took place before the internet was invented (I think), and I can’t remember ever watching a single episode of the show in my entire life.
Regardless, for some reason, all of my preconceived ideas and rules about blogging come from the (potentially) fictional blog that I imagine Doogie Howser probably wrote.
The reason I am writing this post is to let you know that I have decided to return to blogging.
I have taken an unexpected hiatus from blogging for the past few months. This has partially been due to the fact that my free time almost completely disappeared once I had a baby, but mainly because I didn’t know how to ease back into blogging after my extended blogging absence.
I wanted to dazzle all of you with an incredible return-to-blogging post that would be as impressive as the ramblings of a child prodigy. I wanted to return to blogging and Doogie Howser-style blow your socks off.
Is that the phrase? Blow your socks off? I don’t know.
What I do know is that if anyone could blow the socks clear off of your feet it would probably be Doogie Howser.*
So now you know the truth. I haven’t been blogging because I have been intimidated by Doogie Howser, but now I have decided to be brave and step forth as the unique blogger that I truly am. From this day forward I will blog on my own terms.
Here are my terms:
1. Remember that blogging doesn’t need to be complicated.
2. Focus more on writing and less on other things.
3. Have fun.
4. Reassess my blogging terms as needed.
Ok, I think that is all. More to come...like, by Friday.
*This assumption is based on nothing except for the fact that for some reason I think Doogie Howser was probably the best blogger of all time. Plus, I think he was young, so he probably had a good set of lungs which would have come in handy for blowing socks off of an individuals feet.
