Today, I'm dumping a bunch of random New Year's hoopla into one post. Plus, I am going to mix in some Christmas side notes and a hodgepodge of fun facts. Hold on to your seats, this is going to get wild and chaotic pretty quickly.
New Year's Stuff:
Usually I end the year with a "yearly recap" post. This year I didn't. I meant to, but it just didn't happen. The good news is, even though my blog lacked a year-end review, 2015 was not a lackluster year for me. I actually had a great year, and I met all of my 2015 New Year's resolutions.
If I had to sum up 2015 in one sentence I would say:
"2015 was scary, then crazy, then fun, then totally awesome but void of regular sleep."
I didn't promise that it would be a well crafted sentence, but I hope you are happy that I just quoted myself. In fact, I think this will be the quote of the day for the Miss Nutralicious blog.
Fun Fact #1: I got a GPS watch for Christmas!!! It's mine, and mine alone! I used to use my husband's old 2003 college Garmin watch. It looked like I was carrying a desktop computer on my wrist and it usually didn't pick up a signal until I had been running for at least 20 minutes. But now I have my own watch because my mom and dad are awesome!!!
Not-So Fun Fact #1: I would share a picture of my new watch but I've been having blog problems.
New Year's 2016:
I have big plans! Every year, I make a list of 10 things I want to accomplish before the end of the year. Here's my list for 2016:
1) Run a race (yahoo!)
2) Blog more
3) Create more products for my Teachers Pay Teachers store
4) Get crafty!!!
5) Plant a garden
6) Finish my daughters baby book (It's going to be epic!)
7) Complete at least 2 tasks from my 30 and Beyond list
8) Start lifting weights (I can't be this weak forever)
9) Read 16 books in 2016 (I have no idea how many books I normally read in a year. I think this number is really low, but my husband thinks I'm trying to be an overachiever. I may need to adjust this number for 2017.)
10) Help my daughter accomplish her goals for 2016*
Fun Fact #2: I have plans to host a linkup on my blog this year! I've never hosted a linkup, but I have a fun idea. Stay tuned!
Fun Fact #3: I also got 3 pairs of fluffy fleece pants for Christmas and I am wearing a pair right now. It feels like I am being hugged by a sheep. Which reminds me, did you read this article about a sheep named Chris in 2015?
Fun Fact #4: My husband and I are hosting our 2nd annual sibling game day this weekend. All of our siblings are coming to our house to play board games for an entire day. I can't wait!
Not-So Fun Fact #2: They might make me play scrabble or boggle. I'm awful at scrabble and boggle.
Not-So Fun Fact #3: My not-so fun fact #1 is true. My blog hasn't been working lately. I don't know how to fix it, but I think I need a new blogging platform.
Tech question/blogger plea: If you blog, do you have a blogging platform that you like? I use Weebly, which I think is more suitable for a business owner than a blogger. I am probably going to embark on the crazy adventure of switching my blog to somewhere new. Any suggestions/feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
Not-So Fun Fact #4: I totally have bronchitis. Not how I planned to start 2016.
Fun Fact #5: Thanks to my doctor, I started a 5 day dose of steroids yesterday morning and I just wrote an entire blog post in 3 minutes. You are welcome. Next up, I am going to make two dozen banana muffins, put away 3 weeks worth of laundry, and then I should probably start working on my weight lifting goal.
I am starting 2016 like a rock star.
Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year!
